Buying a Residential Home in Middle Tennessee?
Here Are a Few Things to Consider

Middle Tennessee is a unique area full of farming communities, rolling fields, and acres upon acres of beautiful rural land. As such, buying a home here is a one-of-a-kind experience that differs greatly from big-city or even suburban buying. Here are a few things you should know about life in Middle Tennessee before diving in.

Are there any big cities in Middle Tennessee?

Yes! Nashville, known as "Music City" and the capital of Tennessee, is nestled within Davidson County in the Middle Counties of Tennessee. The Nashville Basin makes up a large part of Middle Tennessee.

How many counties are in Middle Tennessee?

According to state law, Middle Tennessee is made up of 41 counties. It is also known as the Middle Grand Division of Tennessee. Besides Nashville, major cities include Clarksville and Murfreesboro. Though it is the largest area of Tennessee, Middle Tennessee is actually the least densely populated.

What are the property taxes like?

Depending on where exactly you live and how many acres you own, property taxes will differ. In general, the State of Tennessee has some of the lowest property taxes in the United States. However, because a multiple-acre home is worth more than a typical suburban home in a city, you can expect to pay more in taxes annually. For example, if you own a 73-acre home in Lewisburg worth $534,900, you can expect to pay around $4,800 in property taxes.

What is the terrain like in Middle Tennessee?

Middle Tennessee is home to rolling hills and fertile stream valleys. Many farmers and agriculturalists flock to this area because of the many possibilities it presents.
